John 14: 22

v22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”

Then Judas said, Lord, what is your intention? Help us to understand what you are doing. You are showing yourself to such a few. What is your strategy? What is your plan to usher in the Kingdom of God? We thought your goal was to rule and reign over all.
How will you do that if you are hiding yourself from the majority of the people? Why are you only showing yourself to a handful of your disciples? What can we do as such a small group to keep this plan moving along? Wouldn't it benefit your cause to have your sphere of influence be as large as possible?
Perhaps if your movement was large enough and powerful enough, you could finally usher in this new era in which you are the King and we co-reign with you. (recall John's mother's request).
If you showed everyone your great power and authority then you would have a great army of people and we could take over the world, and regain our independence and freedom from the tyranny of Rome. Isn't that part of your plan? To set us free?
We don't want to live under Rome's domination and control and you are the only hope we have, but if you do not let the world know, then how will we succeed?
In our way of thinking a leader should be as visible as possible, gaining support and strength through numbers. If you limit your exposure then how are you going to get the job done?
You say are going back to the Father in a little while, and in the meantime you only show yourself to a handful of people…. your leadership strategy doesn’t make sense to us. How is this all supposed to work out?
